She was the daughter of the late Clarence Henry and Violet Turner Cobleigh.
She was preceded in death by a son, Vernon W. Cox, Jr.
She was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church and Teacher Emeritus of the Fidelis Sunday School Class. While her health permitted, she was active in the Women on Missions at the church.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Vernon W. Cox, Sr.; daughters, Allison Nichols of Huntsville, Alabama and Carolyn Cox of Dalton, Georgia; son, Martin Cox and wife, Dellene of Ooltewah, TN; granddaughters, Kelly and Rachel Cox; and sister, Virginia Johnston of Chattanooga.
Funeral Services will be at 1:30 PM on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Frank H. Crumpler officiating.
Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
