

Billie Jo Houston of East Ridge entered the gates of heaven on October 30, 2025, two days after her 93rd birthday. She was born in Pikeville, Tennessee, and was the daughter of William Rothwell and Alice Rothwell.
Billie was preceded in death by Stephen, her son who died at birth, husband, George H. Houston, three brothers, Mose Rothwell, Jimmy Rothwell, and Tommy Rothwell, two sisters, Myra Morgan and Jewell Davis and several half-brothers and sisters.
Billie was married to George for 53 years. They had four children, Greg (Cindy) Houston, Pam (Jason) Helton, Stephen (deceased at birth), and Sara (Steve) Woods.
Her grandchildren are Matthew (Jennifer), Shelly (Andy), Michael, Brian (Brooke), Marc (Kelly), Zackrey, Bond (April), Jeremy, Celeste (Stuart), and Nicholas. Her great-grandchildren are Kyle, Jackson (Michelle), Gracie, Gage, Houston, Keegan, Gabriel, Isaya, Zoriyanna, Brynlee, Baelyn, Bria, Teagan, Lincoln, Thomas, Eleanor, Charlotte, Harvey, Noah, and Parks.
Billie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She worked at Sears for 45 years and retired at the age of 85 when they closed Sears Northgate. She was the custom curtain seamstress for Sears in her early years.
Billie was a charter member of North River Church, and she was the oldest living member until her death.
The family would like to thank the staff of Gentiva Hospice and the staff at Rockbridge Oaks Assisted Living for their excellent care.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Helton, Marc Helton, Zackrey Woods, Jeremy Woods, Nicholas Woods, Brian Houston, Bond Little and Andy Killian.
The family will receive friends at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Chapel, Wednesday, November 5 from 12 noon – 3 pm. The service will follow in the chapel at Chattanooga Funeral Home. Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
