Chris was born on December 23, 1960 on his mom’s 20th birthday. Though his passing brings deep sorrow to those who loved him, his family finds comfort and gratitude in knowing that he had made peace with Jesus before leaving this earth.
A 1980 graduate of East Ridge High School, Chris was a proud member of the school’s boxing team. Shortly after graduation, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Army. Following his military service, he worked as a truck driver for 25 years at Stericycle in Cleveland, where he built lasting friendships and was known for his steady work ethic.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Donald Coffman, and his grandmother, Pauline Tate, both of Chattanooga.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Coffman Pendley (Mac); brother, Mitch Coffman (Jackie); sister, Donna Coffman McBrayer (Keith); daughters, Raesheal Dempsey, Christy Williams, and Danie Reynolds; Aunt Sandra Aslinger; special friends Ann and Kenny Tren; and several grandchildren, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM Friday at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Chaplain Thomas George officiating. There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, TN.
