Deborah Kay Trotter, a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025. She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee, where her kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Deborah shared a deep and enduring bond with her husband, Donald “Benny” Trotter. Their life together was filled with love, laughter, and devotion, and Benny remained her steadfast partner through every chapter of her journey.
Born to Helen King and Edward King, Deborah grew up with a deep appreciation for family—a value she carried proudly throughout her life. She shared a close and cherished bond with her sister, June Plumlee, whose companionship remained a constant source of joy.
Deborah was the devoted mother of her daughter, Alicia Leeds, whom she loved beyond measure. She was also a caring and supportive presence in the lives of her stepchildren: Jamie Keeton, Wesley Trotter, and Chad Trotter.
Her greatest joy came from being “Nana.” She leaves behind a large and loving legacy in her grandchildren: Kirsten Howard, Kalei Howard, Brylei Howard, Bryce Trotter, Garrett McNabb, Maddox Simpson, Cyrus Daniel, Lucas Keeton, Grayson Trotter, and Bella Trotter. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren who brought her endless smiles: Myla Kay Howard, Eric Trotter, and Braylee Trotter.
Deborah’s heart was always open—not only to people, but to animals as well. She adored her dogs, who were faithful companions and constant sources of comfort, joy, and unconditional love. They were truly part of her family, and she cared for them with the same tenderness she gave to everyone she loved.
Deborah’s life was defined by compassion, resilience, and an open heart. She found happiness in simple moments, treasured family gatherings, and took pride in watching her family grow. Her warmth, wisdom, and steady presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Her family finds comfort in knowing that her love remains with them—carried in their hearts, their memories, and the generations she helped shape.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Monday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road East Ridge, Tennessee 37412.
