Dennis C. Coole

Dennis C. Coole, age 88 went home to be with the Lord on Thursday December 16, 2010. He was born in Brighton, England coming to America locating in Chattanooga with his parents, the late William C. and Margaret Rowland Coole at the age of 5.

He graduated from Central High School in 1941 and attended the University of Chattanooga. He was a former member of Central Baptist Church where he served as a deacon joining the church on McCallie Ave, before the move to Woodmore. Currently he is a member of Brainerd Presbyterian Church serving as a deacon. He was a 50 year member of Brainerd Masonic Lodge # 736. Dennis was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Army in China, Burma and India. He was an accounting supervisor with AT&T where he retired after 41 years of service. He was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Wallace Coole and his double first cousin, Violet Stinnett.

Survivors are his wife Elizabeth Perry Scott Coole, son, Dennis C. Coole, Jr. and wife Pam of Atlanta, GA, his granddaughter Megan Coole of Atlanta, GA, his cousins, Don Stinnett, Glenn Stinnett and Pam S. Young and their families, his step-children, Sharon S. Woods, Susan S. Perkinson, and Rusty Scott and their families.

A celebration of Dennis’ life will be held at 10 AM Monday, December 20, 2010 at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Ragon and the Rev. Jonathan Schwartz officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 19 from 3-5 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Brainerd Presbyterian Church 1624 Jenkins Road. The family expresses thanks to the staff of Life Care Center of East Ridge for the care and thoughtfulness shown Dennis and Elizabeth during his stay there.
