Dorothy Swindell Haley-Harrill

She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church. She was very active in politics and even worked on the campaign of Congressman Marilyn Lloyd. Dorothy served on the CARTA board for many years. She also worked at the very first Krystal on Cherry Street, where she would meet her first husband, Daniel.

Preceding her in death are her late husbands, Daniel Haley, Sr., whom she was married to for 33 years and Forrest Harrill, with whom she was married to for 25 years, and her parents, Luther and Mary Swindell.

Left behind to cherish Dorothy’s memory are her sons, Dan Haley; Suwanee, GA., and Dave (Judy) Haley; Jefferson, GA., grandchildren, Kim (Steve) Garland; Chattanooga, TN., Hunter Haley; Daniel Paul Haley; Heather (Lee) Jamison; all of Atlanta, GA., Heidi (Brandon) Haley; Korea, and great-grandchildren, Christin Garland; Chattanooga, TN., and Eli Jamison; Atlanta, GA., daughters, Peggy (Larry) Radford; Munster, IN., Mary Harris O’ Neal; Cartersville, GA., grandchildren, Sandra (Mel) Emerson; and Larry (Cathy) Radford; both of Hammond, IN., Jill (Rob) Coon; Nashville, TN., Jennifer (Boyd) Morris; Cartersville, GA., and Cathy (Keith) Eagle; Apex, North Carolina, great-grandchildren, Michelle (Andy) Fejes; Schererville, IN., Mel (Megan) Emerson; and Amanda Radford; both of Hammond, IN., Sophie and Madeline Morris; Cartersville, GA., and Grace Irene Eagle; Apex, North Carolina., great-great-grandchildren, Andrew and Jacob Fejes; Schererville, IN., and Mel Emerson III; Hammond, IN.

A Celebration of Dorothy’s Life will be held in East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Saturday December 23, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. with Kirk Werner and Lyndon Clay officiating. The family will receive friends also on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time. She will be laid to rest with her first husband in the Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
