Ed Richey

He married his high school sweetheart, Dixie Varnes Richey on January 18, 1957, and recently celebrated 68 years of marriage. Mr. Richey had a successful career in the baking industry (Colonial Bread) and upon retiring completed a second career managing the Lookout Moon Pie Company of Chattanooga, TN. Ed received an honorable discharge from the US Army Reserves as a Sergeant in 1961, and obtained a Masters of Business Administration from Texas A&M, earlier in life. Throughout his career, Ed served on many Board of Directors and leadership committees.

Ed is survived by his wife Dixie; daughter Lisa (John) Richey Radney of Columbia, SC; son Michael (Edith) W Richey of Hickory, NC; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; brother Robert (Sara) Richey of Chattanooga, TN; and sister Ginger (Edward) McGhee of Lexington, KY. He is preceded in death by sister Jean Helton.

A reception for family and friends will be held at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Saturday June 28, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
