She was the daughter of the late William and Circey Norton. She worked as a medical assistant with Dr. Lyman Kasselberg in Memphis, TN. She was a former member of Central Baptist Church Woodmore and currently member of Ridgedale Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roy M. Cox, Sr. and one brother and one sister.
She is survived by daughter, Cheri Payne and her husband, Danny Payne of Chattanooga; son, Roy Cox, Jr. and his wife, Sheilah Cox of Santa Anna, California; grandchildren, Melissa Barber and husband, Andy, Michael Cox and Stacey Cox, Charity Shiffett and husband Joel and Joey Payne and wife Becky ; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday January 26, 2011 at 10:30 am at in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Owens officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 9:30-10:30 Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
