Mr. Hawk was born in Chattanooga to the late, Frank and Helen Williams Hawk. He lived in the Chattanooga and East Ridge area most of his life. He was a graduate of Kirkman High School Class of 1961 and retired from the City of Chattanooga Fire Department after 25 years of service. Mr. Hawk also served as a forward observer with his artillery unit in the US Army.
Survivors include children, Jamie Brooks (Frellen) Simpson, Steven Hawk, and Jennifer (Jeremy) Holder; grandchildren, Macee Whitaker, Connor Simpson, Ethan Hawk, Abbie Hawk, and Torrey Holder; sister, Judy Turner and Cathy (Don) Stancil; nephew, Chad Stancil; and nieces, Chrissy Stancil and Kim Sperin.
Visitation will be from 1 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be at 1 PM on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Campbell. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
