Freda Roth Lewis

Freda Roth Lewis, 85 of East Ridge passed away Friday, November 18, 2022. A native of Hohenwald, TN she was the daughter of the late Fred and Gertrude Roth.

Freda was a faithful member of Green’s Lake Road church of Christ. Her passion in life was teaching, having taught over the course of her life in all elementary grades – kindergarten through eighth grade, except second grade. She taught in the public school systems in Hohenwald, TN, Spindale, NC, Andrews, NC and Hamilton County, Tennessee. She was a faithful teacher of children’s Bible classes for more than fifty years. She also made ten mission trips with her husband to the country of Ukraine between 1992 and 2008. She attended David Lipscomb College.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Martha Watson of Hohenwald, TN and brother, Freddie Roth of Hohenwald, TN.

Survivors include her husband of almost 60 years, James R. (Jim) Lewis; two sons, Bryan Dean Lewis (Natalie) of Murfreesboro, TN and Mark Douglas Lewis of Flintstone, GA; one daughter, Tracy Lynnea Henson (Jeff) of Cartersville, Georgia; one sister, Wilma Ann Churchwell (J.W.) of Hohenwald, TN; five granddaughters, Shelby Nicole Lewis, Rachel Ann Marie Crowder (Michael), Catherine Lorraine Henson, Alyssa Faith Henson and Alexis Paige Henson; one grandson, Samuel James Lewis (Samantha); four great-grandchildren, Nora Rose Lewis, Athena Legg, Max Henson and C.J. Henson; Several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 PM Monday, November 21, 2022 at Green’s Lake Road church of Christ, 1209 Green’s Lake Road, East Ridge, TN. Funeral services will be held at 5 PM Monday at the church with Minister Roger Campbell and Minister Rick Owens officiating.

Graveside services will be at Swiss Cemetery in Hohenwald, TN on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 1 PM Central Time.

Memorial contributions may be made to Green’s Lake Road church of Christ 1209 Green’s Lake Road, East Ridge, Tennessee 37412 designated for missions.
