Mrs. Hart was born in Rising Fawn, GA, had previously worked for Lockhead. She enjoyed a well traveled life and lived in several foreign countries as well as within the U. S. Helen was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Frostproof, Florida where she sang in the church choir.
She was a sweet Mother to Cynthia (Steve) Vaughn of Canton, GA; loving Grandmother to Leila Phillips, Lacy Phillips, and Mark Stephens; step-grandson, Ryan Vaughn; a “Great” Grandmother to Madilyn Phillips, Ella Phillips, and Alyvia Vaughn. Other survivors include her brothers, David (Mary) Abercrombie and Roy (Geneva) Abercrombie and sisters, Mary (Steve) Lewis and Judy (Alan) Johnston.
She was a devoted wife to the late Rex B. Hart and was preceded in death by her parents, W. Kelly and Elzora Abercrombie.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 to 8 PM and Friday from 11 AM to 12 Noon at the funeral home.
Graveside Services will be at 12:30 Friday, April 27, 2012 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Alan Johnston officiating.
