Born in Chattanooga on December 16, 1959, Jeff is the son of the late John Karl Morgan and Jane Rankin Morgan.
After graduating Baylor School in 1978, Jeff attended the University of Tennessee Knoxville where he earned his Bachelors in Business Administration. A few weeks after graduation, Jeff launched Morgan Construction Company and began his career as a general contractor. He built his business on hard work and relentless pursuit of excellence while surrounding himself with loyal and dedicated people.
Jeff served on the Baylor School Board of Trustees and was a member of the executive committee .He received the Baylor School Distinguished Service Award from his beloved alma mater. He was inducted into the UTC Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame in 2018.
He was an avid duck hunter and shared this passion with his wife, children, and friends for many years. He was also a loyal supporter of the conservation efforts of Ducks Unlimited.
Jeff was raised in the church with his family at First Centenary United Methodist Church and later was a member and Deacon at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church. More recently, he had been worshipping at Wayside Presbyterian Church.
Through the challenges of the past two years, Jeff’s faith in Jesus Christ increasingly became his strength for each day. His strength came from his devotion to and love for the Word of God. He cherished with joy the encouragement he received from the ministry of his family and friends in sharing Scripture and prayers day after day. Through it all Jeff wanted only to honor the Lord in his life.
Jeff was married to his loving wife, Melissa, for 33 years. One of his proudest accomplishments was his marriage and raising his three children to walk with the Lord and faithfully trust in Him.
He is survived by his wife Melissa, his three children, Bri (Jeff) Boehm, Lincoln, NE, John (Kara) Morgan, Omaha, NE and Mary Austin Morgan, College Station, TX; his granddaughter Alice Boehm.
