John Waller Grubb

John Grubb, age 79, passed peacefully in his home on Thursday, December 27th, 2018 in Collegedale, Tennessee. He was born August 29th, 1939 to Elmer Grubb and Alice Smith in Loudon, Tennessee. He graduated from Chattanooga High School in 1958. After serving in the Air Force for six years, he then married Ruby Isabell Kilgore. John became a computer programmer for Duff Brothers, and later moved on to BCBST. John was a very intelligent and thoughtful man who had an unmatched vocabulary. He loved to volunteer at his church, Brainerd Baptist with the BX committee and the CD DVD Ministry.

John is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby and his parents.

He is survived by his siblings, Bill Grubb, Thomas Grubb, and Martha Hall, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends who loved John are invited to celebrate his life at the Brainerd Baptist Church on Thursday January 3, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. with Pastor Steve Rowland officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home from 3 – 7 p.m. He will be laid to rest with his wife, Ruby in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.
