Milka, as she was fondly known, was born in 1942, in Drohitachyn, Ukraine to Wolodymyr and Maria Borysiuk. Her time in Ukraine was brief with her family migrating to Adelaide, South Australia where she attended Unley High School. She became a teacher and taught students on Kangaroo Island, in Greece, England, and Germany before settling in Chattanooga, Tennessee to raise her family.
She later graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and worked for the State of Tennessee for 25 years as an auditor.
She had a constant desire to learn, was an avid reader and loved traveling the world. She was always planning her next trip, loved art, animals, music, world history and political discourse. She supported numerous causes and gave of her time to others, having volunteered with Hospice of Chattanooga for years where she received the angel of kindness award.
Her most cherished role was that of grandmother, to Caroline, Laura and Hamilton who fondly called her Babi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and loving brothers Leonid Borysiuk and Henadij Borysiuk.
She is survived by her children Maria (Michael) Haile, Andre’ (Jana) Papa, and Christina (Sherman) Center. Her adored grandchildren, Caroline, Laura and Hamilton. Her aunt Nina, nieces Katrina,Tatiana and nephew, Wally (Fiona) and great nieces, Liana, Tayah and Charlotte and many others whom she loved dearly.
She will be missed by all.
