Mark was born March 21, 1963, in Norfolk, Virginia, to the late, Thomas R. and M. Shirley Porter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in Desert Storm as an AK2 and a member of the VF-84 Jolly Rogers. He was recently employed by Hogan Transports, Inc. He was of the Baptist faith.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Kim; daughter; granddaughter; niece; brother, Mike Porter; sister, Teri (Philip) Kelley; and many extended family members and friends.
A Celebration of Mark’s life was held on Friday October 28, 2022 at 11:30 am with Dr. Dale Kidd officiating. The family received friends beginning at 10:00 am. He was laid to rest in the Chattanooga National Cemetery following the service at 12:30 pm.
