Marvin Isaac Brooks, 74, of Chattanooga passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014 in a local hospital. He was born in Cleveland, TN and grew up in Bonny Oaks Children’s home. Mr. Brooks was a member of Woodland Park Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Cothran Brooks, mother, Lela R. Brooks and a brother, Jesse Leonard Brooks.
Survivors include two sons, Paul Brooks and Ken Brooks and his wife, Judi; one daughter, Kay Brooks all of East Ridge; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Monday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road with the Rev. Al Miller, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
