She is survived by her children: Barry Hatfield, wife Pam of Mt. Washington, Kentucky, Jeff Hatfield, wife Miranda of Ringgold, Georgia, Susan Shoemaker, husband Doug of Eden, North Carolina. Also grandchildren: Daniel, Michael, Julie, Matthew and Alex and three great-grandchildren, Lily, Emma and Benjamin. Her sister, Lucille Thompson and husband Arthur, also their children Nancy, Mike and Amy.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Hatfield and parents, Odessa and Brook Thurman and her brother Forest.
Bess has been a Legal Secretary for Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Thomas, Inc. and retired as Assistant Vice President of JTL Corp. in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
She will be leaving many dear friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday September 11, 2011 at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Visitation will Sunday from 2-4 to the funeral at Chattanooga Funeral Home East. Private burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery, Chattanooga, Tennessee.
