

Ruth was a hard-working individual who dedicated over 30 years of her life to serving the City of East Ridge. Her career included roles in the school patrol, school cafeteria cashier, and at the East Ridge Rec Center, where she was known as Ms. Roden at the "Game Room" where she worked tirelessly for the children and community of East Ridge.
In her personal life, Ruth was preceded in death by her first husband, Algia Paul Roden, and her second husband, Jesse L. Lowery. She also mourned the loss of her son, Garry R. Roden, and a grandson, Lance Roden.
She is survived by her children, Steven P. Roden (Ruth) and Judy R. Kirk (Billy), and her daughter-in-law, Debbie Roden. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Stephanie Mullins (Jay), China Matthews, Steven P. Roden, Jr. (Kate), Betsey McCall (Michael), and Emily Brewer (Jaye), as well as her eight great-grandchildren and stepsons, Michael and Gary Lowery.
Ruth was a devoted member of Grace Works Baptist Church and was actively involved in her community. Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Morning Pointe at Shallowford for the compassionate care provided to Ruth over the past decade.
A private graveside service will be held in her honor at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Ruth's memory to Hearth Hospice.
