Sammy Ray Jenkins, 74, of Chattanooga died Thursday morning December 16, 2010. He was born March 18, 1936 in Bradley County, Tennessee to the late Floyd and Bertha Jenkins and was preceded in death by brothers Ed Jenkins, Gene Jenkins, and sister Retta Sue Rayburn. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his wife Frances Jenkins, step-children Gary R. (Lisa) Martin and Karen L. (Glenn) Martin-Gass, grandchildren, Kaitlyn Martin and Nicholas Gass brothers Bob Jenkins, Joe Jenkins and Wade Jenkins, sisters Evelyn Rockhold, Maxine Swafford and Sandra Chastain and several nieces and nephews.
A prayer service will be held Saturday at 11:30 am in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Jim Vick officiating. Interment is in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
