Mr. Lancaster was born in Leesburg, Alabama and raised in Stevenson, Alabama. He was retired from Cutter Laboratories as an industrial electrician, was of the Baptist faith and was a US Air Force Veteran stationed in Guam during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn Lancaster; sons, Sanford Dale (Lisa) Lancaster and Terrell (Donna) Lancaster, Sr.; grandchildren, Samantha (Sam) Morales, Terrell Kevan Lancaster, Sanford Ryan (Heather) Lancaster Sr., Lauren Ray Lancaster and Devan Lancaster; and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orpha and Sanford Lancaster, Sr.; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Monday and 12 to 1 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be at 1 PM on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 404 South Moore Road.
