Sequoyah High School is saddened by the passing of Luther. Luther was a great supporter of our school. He would broadcast twice a year of our enrollment period and let the public know about all the wonderful opportunities that our school has to offer. The first time I spoke to Luther I told him that I would listen to him as a child and hope that he would cancel school when the snow would begin to fall. I would sit in front of the stereo/record player and say “Please Luther….Please call off school today.” It is ironic that I am working in a school now and sometime can still reflect on that moment. 
I always listen to 92.3/Luther in the school office every day.  My husband and I received a boxer from a pet giveaway on Luther.  Some people come into our lives and quickly go…some stay for a while and leave footprints on our hearts and we are changed forever. Luther Masingill will never be forgotten. He was a nice guy. That is what he wanted to be remembered for and that is what I will always remember him as….a nice guy.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Dave Massingill.  We grew up in the same neighborhood and had a grand time playing outside with the other neighborhood kids.  He will be missed!  Sincere sympathy to Dave's family. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear family of Dave:  Dave and I met at a tennis court while in high school(we attended different schools).  We often played tennis and did other fun things together.  He was such a genuine, kind, and unassuming person. I haven't seen him since then but I have been very sad to hear of his passing away so young. Linda, I am so sorry to learn of David's death. I know he so happy to be with his Lord but I also know you and all the family will miss him.  We are out of town and will not be at the visitation or funeral service but we will be thinking about all the family.  Prayers for peace and the love of our Savior be with you.

I spent a lot of my childhood with David and his sisters and his Mom and Dad. Playing backyard football, playing baseball for his Dad and helping put hay in the barn are only a few fond memories I have growing up. So sorry to hear of his passing and will keep the family in my prayers. We will be out of town and not available to attend the viewing. Respectfully, Mike Jacocks.

Thoughts and prayers for you in this difficult time Mrs Linda. So glad I got to share stories with you thorough his journey. Although I never met him personally I felt as though I knew him. Linda, I am sorry I am not able to attend today's services for David. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your sons. David was always upbeat and friendly and I am sure this was because of his love for you and his family. He lived a great life and is now at peace with the Lord! What a great place he is now in! May God bless you and your family.

What a blessing he was to our family !  I pray that the Lord will wrap His loving arms around your heart, Linda, and the boys too....and give you the peace that passes all understanding. Love you especially for being such a great husband to Linda...and for loving my Momma, too.

He will be missed... the coolest of all my friends dads. Always willing to go the extra mile to make sure me and Dave got to spend time together. Never complained about having to give me a ride and even let me tag along to the movies when I was broke :-) Had the pleasure of catching up a few years back and several random run ins at BiLo that turned into long talks. Thank you God for those moments as he was Truly a great person... RIP
