
Born in Scranton, PA on April 10, 1927 he was a son to the late Frank Sr., and Mable Strouse Sargent. Frank attended Stroudsburg School District and later he was proud to earn his GED. He enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country in World War II earning an Army of occupational medal and a World War II victory medal. Upon his honorable discharge, he began his at Ranson Lighter in Delaware Water Gap and retired 24 years ago from the Tobyhanna Army Depot, Tobyhanna; in 1988 where he was a supervisor in the Sandblast dept. then on the Electroplater dept. He also worked for the Stroudsburg School District at the Stroudsburg High School as security and lunch room monitor.
Frank was a member of the Salvation Army East Stroudsburg, and enjoyed spend time visiting with family and friends. He also took great joy in the game of golf and enjoyed playing golf at Pocono Manor in Mount Pocono.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife the former Marion Carman with whom he shared more than 50 years of marriage, sisters, Gladys Diehl and Anna Mae Weiss brothers, Willard, Willis, and Elwood Sargent.
Surviving is a daughter, Cathy Strawbridge and her husband Carl of Bartonsville; sons, Gary Sargent of Stroudsburg; and Frank P. Sargent and his wife Dina of Pottstown; sisters, Julia “Dukie” Possinger and her husband Paul of Sciota; Betty Pasciutti and her husband Jim of Spotwood, NJ; and Alberta Bond and her husband Donald of Effort and sister in law Mrytle Sargent of Wind Gap; grandchildren Stacy and her husband Keith Dickerson of Blakeslee; Ryan and Noah Sargent of Pottstown; and Wayne Strawbridge of Bartonsville; great grandson Caleb Dickerson of Blakeslee; many nieces and nephews 2 special ones are Skylar and Nicky Esposito and his Nanna that watched his every move Maizey (his lab)
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 23, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street East Stroudsburg, with Major James Gingrich officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Stroudsburg Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
A public visitation will held on Tuesday October 23, 2012 at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
