Jeannette Walton

H. Jeannette Walton, nee Betzner, 93, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2010 at Golden Living Center in East Stroudsburg. Born in Philadelphia January 21, 1917, she was the daughter of William Garfield Betzner and Hattie Tappan Betzner, nee Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved husband George Joseph Walton.

She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Jeannette was a strong believer in dedicating herself to her family. She retired from the IRS and later became a volunteer for the Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. Having grown up in Philadelphia, Jeannette was an avid Eagles and Phillies Fan. Jeannette will be remembered for her love of family, lively spirit and sense of humor.

Her closest surviving family members are her daughter Lynn Dunleavy Harrison of Stroudsburg, her son George and his wife Linda Walton of Feasterville, her three grandchildren Siobhan Dunleavy of East Stroudsburg, Steven Walton of Marshalls Creek, and Joanne Deems of Marshalls Creek, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
