Laura Lorraine Oney, 83, of East Stroudsburg, passed away on Friday May 3, 2013 at Pocono Medical Center.

She was born in East Stroudsburg, PA; on August 17, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Nelson and Lottie (Hilgert) Whitmore.

Laura was a life time resident of Monroe county. She attended school in the East Stroudsburg School District. She worked as a baker and a cook for many years. Laura enjoyed baking her wedding cakes. One of the families fondest memories is reflecting back on the times when she was baking cakes and also her love for her Atlantic City trips with her friends.

Laura was a member of the Analomink United Methodist Church. Laura will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents was her loving husband Harold E. Oney, a daughter: Linda M. Oney who passed away in 1955, and three brothers: Roy, Franklin, and Nelson Whitmore.

Surviving is a son: Michael L. Oney, of East Stroudsburg; two grandchildren: Michelle L. Oney, of East Stroudsburg, and Zahra Jean Yohe, of Greentown, PA; three Foster Children: Laura Bogert, Stephanie Cammerota, and Adelaine Gilliland; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at the conveniences of the family.
