Margaret M. McColligan (Margaret M. Woodbridge) passed peacefully Saturday, December 26th, 2020, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, New Jersey. She was the wife of Joseph L. McColligan, who preceded her in death in February 1991.
Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of Walter A. Woodbridge and Margaret Rainey Woodbridge where she lived until settling in East Stroudsburg, Pa in 1951. She worked as a book binder at Haddon Craftsman in Scranton and at Anchor Davit in Stroudsburg. She was a devoted, loving wife and mother to her 3 children, Joann, Patricia, and Lawrence. Throughout her life, Margaret felt that raising her children was her greatest accomplishment and she was also very proud of her many years of volunteer work at St. Matthew's (where she was also a member) and St. Luke's parishes , Stroud Manor and her 27 years of singing with the Golden Chords.
She was also preceded in death by parents Walter A. Woodbridge and Margaret Rainey Woodbridge and siblings John and Anna Woodbridge (husband James P Collins,) Walter G. Woodbridge, Francis P Woodbridge (and wife Grace) Rita Hack (husband George Hack) and grandchild Megan Riley.
She is survived by daughters, Mrs. Joann T. Riley (James), Lancaster, Pa. Patricia Hendricks (Stephen) Ocean Township, NJ and Son: Lawrence J. McColligan (Sarah), Ocean Township, NJ. Six Grandchildren: Christopher, Kieran, Caitlin, Michael, Connor and Julia and three great grandchildren, Walter, Grace and Mary.
Mass:Viewing is Wednesday December 30th at Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home 27 Washington St. East Stroudsburg PA 18301 9am to 9:45am with a Christian Mass at 10am at St. Matthew's Church 200 Brodhead Ave, East Stroudsburg followed by a Christian Burial at Laurelwood Cemetery. With current health restrictions CDC guidelines will be followed.
