Per Sagaard, 90, passed away on October 27, 2019. He was born February 19, 1929 to the late Mauritz and Tallerine Sagaard in Lyngdal, Norway. Per was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Eleanor. They were married on September 13, 1952. Together, they lovingly raised their family. Per and Eleanor immigrated from Norway in 1955 to Brooklyn, NY. After living in Brooklyn for 61 years, they moved to East Stroudsburg, PA in 2016 to be closer to their family. Per is survived by their four children: daughter, Tone, and her husband Victor, son, Odd, and his wife Laurie, daughter, Sharon, and her husband Chris, daughter, Lorraine, and her husband Kevin. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Jennifer and her husband Toby, Melissa and her husband Gene, Steven and his wife Laurie, Julie and her husband Nick, Cassandra, Anthony, Benjamin, and Daniel. He also has six great-grandchildren: Kyle, Luke, Levi, Evan, Heidi and Remy. Per is survived by his brother, Godwin. He was predeceased by his sister, Margot. He had many friends and family including nieces and nephews. Per was a dockbuilder and a carpenter. He worked on building many bridges and buildings, including the Verrazano Bridge and the World Trade Center. As a carpenter he worked in office buildings and luxury apartments throughout Manhattan. After retirement, Per and Eleanor traveled and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Visitation will be at Lanterman and Allen on Friday, November 1 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm with a service at 6:30 pm. The burial will be at Ocean View Cemetery in Staten Island, NY on Saturday at 11am.
