Born November 8, 1925 in Manhattan he was the son of the late Charles and Josephine (Horvath) Kasak. Rudy was raised and educated in the Bronx. He joined the Navy in November of 1943 and served as a ships electrician on an LSM in the Pacific. Upon his return in 1946 from the Navy he began his career with New York Telephone. He then married the love of his life, Helen Turjak in August of 1950 and bought their first home in Douglaston N.Y. In 1964, years after the birth of their two sons, Ed and John, they bought a small summer rental property in the Poconos called “Ridgewood Cottages”. They moved to Pennsylvania in 1969 to build the business and provide a better life for their family. Later in life Rudy and Helen enjoyed traveling the country and the world with many friends they had made over the years. They also cherished their time with family and friends from New York and Florida.
Rudy is survived by his son John Kasak, wife Nancy and their three children, Kristen Redding, husband Greg, Ryan, fiancé Michelle Sarcona and Melissa. Also grandson Richard Kasak, wife Megan and their three children Christopher, Wesley and Amelia. Brother-in-law John Turjak, wife Elizabeth, Sister-in-law Esther Turjak, Nephew Bob Kasak and several other nieces and nephews.
Predeceased are his wife Helen and son Edward, brother Charles and wife Hilda, and brother-in-law Joe Turjak.
Friends and Family are welcomed to gather Monday July 22, 2019 from 10AM-12PM with a Prayer Service to follow at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home Inc. 27 Washington St. East Stroudsburg PA. Interment will follow in Laurlewood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
