

Al was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He graduated from Sayre High School in 1963 and was the captain of the football team, ran track, and played basketball. He went on to graduate from Okmulgee Tech in 1965. And then he married his best friend, Mary, on 12/2/1966. Al was a 100% disabled Vietnam Veteran. He retired from the United States Postal Services in 1999. He was also a 32nd degree Mason. Al was a talented welder, mechanic, paint and body repair technician. He enjoyed restoring cars, being outdoors, fishing, going to the lake, gardening, and giving special tractor rides to his grandchildren. He also loved watching the doves and other birds with his wife, Mary. Al lived for his wife, children, and grandchildren and would have done anything for his family.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Natalie Schnell (Jimmy); son, Curtis Scism (Heather); grandchildren, Trevor and Jacob Scism, Mehgan, Tyler, and Cassidy Schnell; brothers, Odell Scism (Victoria) and Doug Scism; sisters, Howardine Martin, Elsie Pettit, and Velva Chriswell (Bob); and a host of other family and friends.
