Alma Doris Davis

Alma Doris Davis, 93, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014 at OU Medical Center in Edmond, Okla. She was born on July 27, 1921 to Cliff and Hessie (Cowart) Thacker in Mountain Home, Ark. She married S.E. “Buster” Davis on December 25, 1942 in Childress, Texas, and resided in Chalk and Paducah, Texas, until 2000. She then moved to live with her eldest son John C. Davis in Edmond. She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, brother Roy C. Thacker, son James E. Davis, son-in-law James C. Lackey and daughter-in-law Phyllis K. Davis. She is survived by her son John C. Davis of Edmond; daughter Doris Ann Lackey of Wichita Falls, Texas; daughter-in-law Pam Wareham of Hutto, Texas, grandchildren Terry and Jill Beggs, Tammy and Steve Schwartz, Janet and Craig Spence, Jason and Amber Davis, Todd Davis, Stephen Lackey, Rance and Tammy Davis, Julianna and Phil Swed, Jessica Davis, Jo Davis-Thew. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2014 at the Edmond Church of Christ with Kent Risley officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Paducah Cemetery Association in Paducah, Texas.
