Barbara Ellen King

Barbara Ellen King, born March 22, 1946 in OKC, passed away Jan 17, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pat and LaVanda Curry and daughter, Rebeka Ellen. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Tom King; her 4 children, David, Jonathan, Amy and Tim and their spouses; 11 grandchildren whom she lavished her love and affection upon. Barbara graduated Suma Cum Laude from UCO with a Bachelor of Music Education in 1987. She was a member of SAI Fraternity and the Edmond China Painters club. She taught at Cross Timbers Elementary in Edmond, where she received teacher of the year award. Barbara also gave a lifetime of service in the Church of Christ where she used God’s gift her beautiful voice to worship God, teach others about his son, Jesus Christ and to encourage all her students, both in public school and bible classes to reach their full potential; to love and respect themselves and one another. Her faith, hospitality, gentleness and love will be missed while we continue our work. We await our reunion with Christ, our mom and all the Saints in Heaven.

Services will be 10:00 am, Friday, Jan 21, 2011 at Edmond Church of Christ with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond.

The family will be available to greet friends Thurs eve. From 4pm to 6pm at the Funeral Home.
