Bobby was born in Oklahoma City to Frank Lane and Maggie (Hocker) Lane on May 9, 1942. As a child, Bobby loved football and the University of Oklahoma, but his blood turned bright orange when Henry Iba offered him a full scholarship to Oklahoma State University as a student athletic trainer. While attending OSU, Bobby married Margaret Roberts of Oklahoma City on June 5, 1965.
After graduation from OSU, Bobby and Margaret moved to Bartlesville, where Bobby began his 38-year career with Phillips Petroleum Company. Bobby and Margaret made some of their closest friends through Bobby's work, Phillips 66 Gymnastics, Injun baseball, and especially First Baptist Church of Bartlesville. Bobby left a legacy of faith with thousands of children by teaching Bible lessons in Children's Church for over 20 years.
Bobby loved to travel and take long road trips to visit National Parks, historical sites, and sites he discovered through his love for genealogy. He loved watching his kids and grandkids play sports and attending as many OSU sporting events as possible.
As much as Bobby loved OSU, it paled in comparison to his love for Jesus Christ and his love for others. He was a humble servant leader who always put the needs of others before his own. Bobby's compassion and generosity were evident through his volunteer work and support of the Boy's Ranch Town, Campus Crusade for Christ International aka Cru, and The Wiz Kids Foundation.
Bobby was preceded in death by his daughter Angela Lane of Bartlesville.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Margaret Lane; mother, Maggie Lane of Oklahoma City; four siblings: Jeanne and Charles Hubbard of Nashville, Arkansas, Steven and Suzanne Lane of Mustang, Larry and Chery Lane of Union City, and Terri and Scott Herron of McKinney, Texas; two children: daughter Kerri and Jason Frederick of Coppell, Texas, and son Doug and Kara Lane of McKinney, Texas; six grandsons and his beloved granddaughter.
