Dale Lee Whybark, 67, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2025. He had been in an auto accident near Watonga, Oklahoma, and succumbed to his injuries. He was born to Dale B and Mildred Whybark on April 28th, 1957, in Oklahoma City. He attended John Marshall High School graduating in 1975, and OSU at Stillwater, graduating in 1979. He enjoyed his work as a geologist and worked for various oil companies in Oklahoma City, including PSEC Cleary Petroleum, Devon, Kirkpatrick Oil and Gas, and most recently Gulf Exploration. His enduring faith in God helped him get through the good times and the bad with a smile on his face. He was well respected for the prospects he helped bring to fruition.
Dale loved music, animals, and the outdoors. He always believed the best of people and that’s just one reason why he had so many friends. His easy-going personality, good sense of humor and good heart made him a pleasure to be around. Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Millie and Dale B, and leaves behind a son, Samuel Arthur Whybark, and a sister Gail Gillock & husband Thomas Gillock, his niece Kimberly Gillock & husband Scott Anderson, and nephew Robert Gillock & wife Nicole & their children Graham & Margo. It is with great sadness that we have to say “goodbye” to Dale.
Services will be held on February 3rd, at 2:00 pm, at Crossings Community Church, 14600 N Portland Ave. Donations may be made in his memory to Life Share Foundation or Safe Haven Animal Rescue or the charity of your choice.
