David McWilliams was born July 7, 1949, in Edmond, Oklahoma, to George and Nora McWilliams.
He grew up in Edmond and graduated from Edmond High School in 1967. In January 1968, he enlisted in the Army and served in the 173rd Airborne Infantry. For his service in Vietnam, David was awarded three purple hearts. After his discharge, he attended the University of Central Oklahoma and pursued various careers; including: the post office, railroad, and truck driving.
David was an avid reader and loved music, especially the classic rock he grew up with. His love of nature led him to complete the OSU Master Gardener program and become a member of the Oklahoma Bee Keepers.
David loved and was loved by his family and friends. He is survived by his sisters: Sandee Cochran, Georgia Shaw and husband Ronald, and Sherry Kettler and husband Jim, and nieces and nephews.
David passed away January 30, 2020, after a brief illness.
