Joan Glennis Hume Kerr

Joan was born May 16, 1936 in Ottawa, Kansas to Ellen Ardena Grogan and Harley Glen Hume. She attended Bartlesville High School in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Joan married Walter Lloyd Brady and they spent many happy years together raising their daughter Pamela Brady Sprehe. They enjoyed fishing, vacations at Lake Ten Killer and square dancing with Raw Hide Square Dancing Club. In 1993, Jerry Mac Kerr and Joan married. They owned Northwest Office Sales Inc. together and enjoyed traveling to various cities around Mexico.

Joan worked as a PBX operator at Oklahoma City Federal Savings and Loan, working her way up to becoming a Loan Officer. She moved to Fleming Company around 1978 as an Executive Secretary. In the early 90's Joan focused her attention on building their business with her husband, Jerry. Very intelligent, Joan took many classes to continue her education and excelled at all of her studies.

Joan enjoyed many outdoor activities including water skiing and boating. While Joan didn't golf she liked to ride in the cart while her husband and step father played. She particularly loved visiting her grandchildren and traveling on vacation with her daughter's family. The children loved going fishing and spending time with her.

She was selfless in caring for her family and nursed her husband during his illness until he passed in 2013. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Ardena Brady Sprehe; three grandchildren: Phillip Lloyd Sprehe, Eric Anthony Sprehe, and Amanda Joan Sprehe; great-grandchild, Madeline Kelly Sprehe; step-father Orville Gene Gass; four siblings: Ellen Ardena Nossaman, Harley Glen Hume, Larrie Lon Hume, and Jerome LaGrange Hume; several nieces; and a nephew.

Joan is now resting with her husband, Jerry Mac Kerr; mother,Ellen Ardena Gass; and father, Harley Glen Hume.

Rosary will be said at 9:30 am Monday, October 12 with Funeral Mass at 10:30 at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond.
