

Kathryn Louise (Trohkimoinen) Natalie, 72, passed away February 11, 2026. Kathy was born August 15, 1953 in Rapid City, South Dakota to Elmer and Pearl (Smith) Trohkimoinen. She grew up in Sturgis, South Dakota and graduated from Sturgis Brown High School in 1971. She participated in band, choir, and cheerleading in high school. She attended South Dakota School of Mines and Technology where she participated in cheerleading, was Miss Tech, and won the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) senior paper contest. She graduated in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Kathy married Charles “Chuck” Natalie December 22, 1974. They moved to Berkeley, California and she worked in San Francisco for PG&E. They later moved to Concord, California. After Chuck finished school they moved to Pueblo, Colorado where she worked for the US Department of Transportation Railroad Test Facility. Later they moved to Arvada, Colorado where she worked for Union Pacific Railroad as a mainframe computer engineer.
Following the birth of her first son, Charles, in August of 1987, she then stayed home to raise her family. She became a skilled mother as her husband’s job required extensive time away. Kathy and Chuck moved to Edmond, Oklahoma in 1989. Their second son, Paul, was born in Oklahoma City in September of 1989. Kathy has lived in Oklahoma since.
Kathy enjoyed paper crafting, card making, assembling crafts for her granddaughters, and attending her boys sporting events as they grew up. She also volunteered in the computer lab at Sequoyah Middle School in Edmond. She spent as much time as she could traveling to visit relatives.
Survivors include her husband, Chuck of Edmond; two sons, Chuck (Autumn) of Denton, Texas, and Paul (Victoria) of Oklahoma City; three granddaughters, June, Nora, and Piper of Denton, Texas; brother, Gary (Jan) Trohkimoinen of Buffalo Lake, Minnesota; sister, Marie (Bob) Kaufman of Whitewood, South Dakota; four nephews; three nieces; sisters-in-law, Ceri (Frank), and Colleen; and brother-in-law, Clark (Wendy).
She was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in-law; and several cousins.
The memorial service will be held Monday, February 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Baggerley Funeral Home at 930 South Broadway in Edmond. Following her wishes she has been cremated and her ashes will be interred on the family ranch in South Dakota.
