Mack “Dwayne” Hunt died on August 3, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Dwayne was born on June 9, 1965 in Tulsa, OK. Dwayne graduated from Tulsa’s Will Rogers High School in 1982 and Oklahoma City University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
Dwayne had many passions in his life; among these were his many nieces and nephews, photography, visiting caves throughout the United States and caring for his cats. He was the uncle parents feared. If his nieces or nephews wanted something and mommy or daddy said no, all they had to do was let Uncle Dwayne know and he would get if for them.
One of the highlights of his career was working for The Phoenix Group for 21 years. He began work with The Phoenix Group in 1997 as the Corporate Secretary/Office Manager and progressed to Controller.
He is survived by his brother Robert Hunt and wife Jodie; nephews Eric Myers and Bobby Hunt; nieces Emily Stegall and husband Ben, Kelsey Fallis, and Bella Hunt; great-nephews Lucas Fallis, Parker Stegall, Gavin Stegall, Corbin Stegall, and Anakin Stegall, cousins and a host of friends. The family would also like to recognize his best friend Jeff Vaill who was there for Dwayne during his cancer battles and various other difficult times.
He was preceded in death by his mother, V. Sue Norwood Hunt, and grandmother Opal Norwood and many of his wonderful cats. On his way to Heaven, Dwayne will stop at the meadow just this side of the Rainbow Bridge to reunite with his cats. After they have all gathered they will cross the Rainbow Bridge so they may enter into God’s Kingdom together.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Cat Coalition of Edmond, OK or Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
