Mark graduated from Sulphur High School and attended Central State University (now known as the University of Central Oklahoma). Mark graduated from college with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
Mark always loved animals, but dogs were his favorite. For decades, Mark was heavily involved in various AKC dog shows. He was also a breeder of Bullmastiffs. In 1998, Mark decided to take his love of dogs and his knowledge of animals and people and turn those into a business. He started his own company called Pet Pointe! He, and his sons, worked at Pet Pointe until Mark sold the company and retired in 2011.
He is preceded in death by his mother Melva Essary and his uncle James Essary.
Mark is survived by his spouse Julie Ahrens; son Mark and wife Jeri; son Nick and wife Angie; father Robert; brother Tim and wife Marti; grandchildren: Rhett, Ethan, Gavin, Kristin, Cooper, and Carter; two nieces; one nephew; other family members; and friends.
