Marlene Lois Fisher

Marlene Lois Fisher, 73, went to be with our Lord in Heaven on November 26th, 2010. Marlene was born on May 16, 1937 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Born to Joseph and Catherine Monfre, she graduated from Riverside High School in Milwaukee. After dating Buster Fisher while he was at the Naval School in Great Lake, IL, Marlene moved to San Diego, California while Buster was stationed at the Navy Des Base. Marlene married Buster and they had their first child, Linda. The couple was married for 55 years until death took her from this world. After Buster’s Honorable Discharge from the Navy, they returned to Milwaukee and had three more children. In 1975 they could no longer stand the cold winters in Milwaukee so they moved the family back to Buster’s hometown, Edmond, Oklahoma. Marlene and Buster (and family) opened AAA Edmond Glass & Mirror and enjoyed 35 years of business success, even being voted “Business of the Quarter” by the Edmond Chamber of Commerce. Marlene ran all aspects of the business including scheduling, bookkeeping, and day-to-day management. Marlene was “our little boss lady” right up until the time she passed. She also owned and operated “Tomorrow’s Treasures”, displaying and buying and selling her antiques and collectibles. Marlene was an avid “Garage Saler” until her health prevented her from driving. Also, she was a “Doller” and bought and sold dolls of every kind. She also went through a fun period of collecting Longaberger baskets and amassed a large assortment of these beautiful treasures. She was always deeply involved with her children in school, music and other activities, and she had a heart of gold for all who came in contact with her. Her warmth and smile broke even the hardest of hearts. Marlene was kind and generous even to strangers although her Sicilian nature took over if wronged or she wanted to voice a strong opinion. Marlene and her family are active members of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond for over 35 years. She loved being with her four children and eight grandchildren and her two great grandchildren (and one more on the way). Marlene was proceeded in death by both her parents and her brother, Dennis Monfre of Plymouth, Wisconsin. She is survived and sorely missed by her husband Buster (Bud); daughter Linda and her husband James, son Joshua and wife Latina, stepson Michael and wife Katherine; son Gregory and wife Miho; daughter Pamela of Chickasha and her husband, Michael Branch, daughter Alicia of Denver, Colorado, son Michael and wife April and daughter Ava, son Jonathan of Austin, Texas and wife Whitney, daughters Rebekah and Kayla; son Patrick and wife Theresa and son Zachariah; Marlene’s sister Diane and husband Tom Wenzel, sons Jeff, Paul and Danny and families all of Wisconsin; Marlene’s brother Joe and wife Jan and nephews Dean and Darin and their families also of Wisconsin; nephews Michael Monfre of Spokane, Washington and Nicholas Monfre and family of Wisconsin; also Aunts and Uncles and Cousins all of Wisconsin. Marlene will be dearly missed by all who knew her. May she forever rest in peace. A wake will be held 7:00 pm, Monday, November 29 at Baggerley Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 30 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond with interment following at Resurrection Cemetery.
