John Michael Cofer “Mike” passed away Tuesday, December 4th, 2018 at his home in Edmond, Oklahoma. He was born April 29th, 1954 in Emporia, Kansas to John and Beverly Cofer. Mike had a vibrant personality and believed every day should be lived to the fullest. He was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in August of 2017. Mike fought hard until the very end, where love and family surrounded him as he passed from this life to the next. Mike was a 1972 graduate of Ponca City High School and later attended Oklahoma State University where he pledged the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He graduated from OSU with a Biology Degree in 1976 and went on to work in the Pharmaceutical Sales Industry for more than 30 years. Mike won numerous awards and was a well-respected member of the Pharma industry. He was also an avid sports fan. He played competitively for most of his life and was particularly passionate about his OSU Cowboys. He enjoyed basketball, football, tennis, and soccer and would often challenge friends and family to compete. He was involved in the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization and loved spending time with his “Little Brother”, Kamariawn. Most often, he could be found at home with “his girls” and doodles, Dexter and Josey. Mike leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Dena; daughter Alli Cofer and her partner Fallon Elliott; daughter Taylor Stockton and her husband Daniel; brother Ray Cofer and his wife Joyce; sister Nancy Lloyd and her husband Jim; and many more beloved family and friends.The family asks that attendees wear OSU colors in remembrance of Mike.
