Monte Lynn Mowdy

Monte Lynn Mowdy, 66, passed away on August 29th 2024 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born July 20th 1958 in Edmond Oklahoma, Monte was the son of the late Manuel and Betty Mowdy.

He is survived by his wife Laura Mowdy, son Justin Hutchinson (from Arizona) with wife MiKayla and one grandchild; son Tyler Hutchinson with wife Amber; and son Jason Mowdy with wife Mary Rose and grandchildren. Siblings: Mike Mowdy, Marlin Mowdy, Dayna Mantooth, and Danette Mowdy.

Monte was a very kind, funny, strong, and mighty man of God. He married Laura Brady on January 26th 2002 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In 2008, he graduated from Southern Nazarene University with a Bachelors in Organizational Leadership, and graduated from Texas Bible College Excel Program. Monte then taught the Excel Program at Edmond, Oklahoma extension center for 6 years. Pursuing his calling of preaching the Word of the Lord, Monte became ordained through WPF (Worldwide Pentecostal Fellowship) and planted and pastored Pentecostals of Mesa Church in Mesa, Arizona from 2018-2021. Before Monte went to be with the Lord, he was a member of Hope Church in Choctaw, Oklahoma. Monte continued to preach and spread the Word of the Lord until his last breath. Loving to fish, sing and study the Word of the Lord; Monte will be missed but we rejoice as he got his eternal reward in Heaven.

The family will be hosting a memorial service for Monte, Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Paseo Church, 611 NW 23rd Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73103.
