Nita Jean passed away from heart failure on May 9th, 2026. Her kindness and generosity will be deeply missed by all.
Born in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Z.B. Burris and Bonnie Lucille (Lokey) Burris. Nita Jean was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Maxine Bednarski, Mary Jane Burgess Brewster, brother Gail Richard Burris, husband Lester Ray Smith, sons Tommy Joe Evans and Ricky Gene Evans.
She is survived by son, Jimmy Lee Evans, daughters Cynthia Anne Smith, Jana Lyn Smith and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Interment will be held at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery in Edmond, Oklahoma.
