

Opal Bernice (Muse) Baldwin passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014. She was born March 28, 1925 to Robert Clifton Muse and Lou Elizabeth (Baker) Muse at Waurika, Oklahoma. She married Edwin E. (Jack) Allen on May 17, 1941 at Altus. When Jack died in February, 1944, Opal began work at the
Frederick Army Air Field where she met a young soldier, J. T. Wright, and they were married March 13, 1945. She began as a mechanic’s learner advancing to sheet metal worker. She also worked briefly at Laughlin Field, Del Rio, Texas before returning to Frederick. They moved to Lawton in 1948 and to Choctaw in 1968. They owned Mid State Office Equipment in Midwest City until J.T.’s death in 1984. Opal sold the business and moved to Edmond in 1985 where she enjoyed volunteering. She joined Henderson Hills Baptist Church where she met Duane H. Baldwin. They were married May 3, 1991. Duane died March 12, 2005. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Jean Allen Joyner, Lawton, Sherry Kay Wright Stuever and husband Richard, Edmond, a son Royce Kent Wright and wife Tammy, Smithfield, Virginia, six grandchildren Jeffery K. Joyner and his wife Jenni, Los Angeles, Pryce A. Joyner and wife Sharon, Woodland Park, Colorado, Keely G. Northup and husband Keith, Guthrie, Russell K. Stuever, Guthrie, Eric D. Wright and wife Cheri, Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Justin L. Wright, Smithfield, Virginia and eleven great-grandchildren. Opal was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 22 at 2:00pm at Baggerley Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Ministries of Jesus, 1100 E I-35 Frontage Rd, Edmond, OK, 73034.
