Raymond was born on June 8, 1945, in Hoisington, Kansas, to Everett Wesley Davis and Mary Jane (Boggess) Davis. He was the first in his family to graduate from college, earning an Associate of Science in Computer Science and was honored as a member of Phi Beta Kappa, a milestone he held with deep pride.
In 1988, Raymond moved to Edmond, Oklahoma, where he built a life centered around faith, family, and simple joys. In 2023, he relocated to Guthrie. A devoted member of the Edmond Church of Christ, Raymond lived as a humble and faithful man of God.
He had a deep love for country and western music, especially the songs of Johnny Cash. Blue was his favorite color, and he cherished quiet days spent fishing on the lake. His pets brought him laughter and companionship, and he always found joy in the little things.
Raymond was married to Ila Koch from 1966 to 1973 and later to Ronda Davis from 1975 to 2016. Ronda lovingly cared for Raymond in his final years, and he held her and their family close to his heart. He instilled in his son the value of giving your best in all that you do — a lesson lived out in his own life.
Raymond’s legacy is one of quiet strength, devotion, and love for his family. He will be deeply missed.
Raymond is preceded in death by his sons, Dennis Ray Davis and Raymond Wesley Davis, Jr., brothers Jerry Davis, Bob Davis, and an infant brother, and sister Barbara Bell.
Raymond is survived by son, Marcus Lee Davis and wife Alisa Michelle, stepdaughter Cheryl Tallent, brother Ben Davis, four nieces, three nephews, and numerous fur babies.
Memorials in Raymond’s name can be sent to Edmond Church of Christ, 801 S. Bryant Ave., Edmond, OK 73034.
