

Richard Alvin Mills, beloved husband, father, friend and Catholic, passed away at home in Oklahoma City on January 7, 2010. Richard was born on April 20, 1934 in Amarillo, Texas to Paul and Juanita Mills. Richard moved with his parents and brothers Don, Bob, Monty and Eldon to Oklahoma City in 1945. Richard attended John Carroll, Bishop McGuiness, and John Marshall High Schools. Following high school, he served in the United States Army until honorably discharged. Richard married his wife of 50 years, Charleen Caviness, on August 8, 1959 in Oklahoma City, where they made their home and raised their family. Richard established a successful construction and cabinetry business and built homes throughout the Oklahoma City area. Richard loved the outdoors and was an avid horseman and sportsman. Richard is preceded in death by his mother, father and four brothers. Richard is survived by his wife Charleen and five daughters, Debra and her husband Harold Teague and their children Karen and Richard; Linda and her husband Kevin Clark and two sons Steven and David; Tamie and her husband JD Wiggins and children Asa and Noel; Penny and her husband Russell Voss and two sons Austin and Garrett; and Gina and her husband Randy Nichols and their daughter Haley; and two great-grandchildren Blaine Teague and Teagan Dawson. Visitation will be Sunday, January 10, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Baggerley Funeral Home in Edmond. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 9th & Boulevard in Edmond In lieu of flowers, charitable donations are appreciated to Saint Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic School, 925 South Boulevard, Edmond, OK 73034 and/or St. John the Baptist Samaritan House.
