Rosalee Standerfer was born in Dupot, IL. Most of her growing up was done in Erick, Oklahoma, with her mother, 2 brothers, grandparents, and a lot of aunts and uncles. She graduated from Erick High School in 1940. After graduation, she was accepted to the Oklahoma University School of Nursing. It had always been a dream of hers to be a nurse.
She had been dating Lee M. Vineyard for 3 years and when WWII started she "traded bedpans for Matrimony" as she put it. So after only 6 months of nursing school, she became Rosalee Standerfer Vineyard.
Rosalee dedicated her life to being a good wife and mother and making a loving home for her family. She was affectionately called "Honey" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rosalee and Lee had 3 children: Sharon Vineyard Myers Henderson, Donna Vineyard Losey, and Larry Vineyard.
She is a grandmother to 7 grandchildren: David Myers, Bryan Myers, Lisa Bice, Kindyle Brennan, Kristin Pardue, Jordan Vineyard, and Lindsey Parker.
She also has 10 great-grandchildren: Michael Bice, Caroline Bice, Scott Myers, Nathan Myers, Corrie Myers, Nora Myers, Claire Brennan, Connor Brennan, Logan Pardue, and Levi Pardue.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lee M. Vineyard and son Larry W. Vineyard.
The family wishes to thank the staff and Hospice at Brookdale Collin Oaks in Plano, TX, for their wonderful and loving care.
