Mrs. Ruby RJ J Roberts Mills

Ruby Jeannette Mills, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and devout Catholic, passed away, after a valiant fight with Leukemia, surrounded by her loved ones, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City on Dec. 24, 2009. Ruby was born on Nov. 27, 1935 in Oklahoma City, OK to Rube and Vannie Roberts. Ruby was the fifth of seven children; Kay, Laura, Johnny, Livinnia, Ruby, Gene and Eldon. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Donald Rex Mills. Ruby and Don attended John Marshall H.S. together. Afterward, Ruby traveled the world with her husband a U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer and their four children, for 28 years, before retiring in Oklahoma City. Ruby attended cosmetology school while they were stationed in Virginia and became one of the most popular and beloved hair stylists in both Virginia Beach and Oklahoma City. Her children have many fond memories of their time living overseas in Japan and Italy. Ruby is survived by her four children, Don Jr. and his wife Claudia, daughter Tamra and her husband L.J. Wood, son Harold and wife Robin, and son David and wife Sheryl and Ruby’s eight grandchildren Michael, Dane, Christina, Cy, Courtney, Payne, Jordan and Chelsey Family will be accepting friends at the funeral home at 5:00 pm, Sunday, Dec. 27. A Rosary will be held 7:00 pm, December 27 at Baggerley Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Monday, Dec. 28 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with interment following at Memorial Park Cemetery. Lunch will be served afterward at 1:30 PM at Saint John The Baptist Catholic Church .
