Born to Francis Murray Stout and Frances McCollum Stout in Corpus Christi, TX and raised in San Antonio, TX, Susie graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1961. Shortly after, she traveled to Kingsville, Texas to attend college at Texas A&I.
In 1965, Susie married Gordon Earl Carlin of Beaumont, TX and started a family in Layfette, LA. With son, Gordon, Jr and daughter, Catherine, the family would move to Norman, OK in 1968 where Susie began a 25-year career in banking at Great Western Savings and Loan. In 1971, they moved to Edmond, OK and the couple would then add daughter, Sara to the family.
Susie was active in scouting, all of her children’s activities and was the mascot for Edmond Memorial High School for many years, with her bulldogs Spike and Sparkle
In 1992, Susie married Robert "Bob" McCutchan and added his four children to her family. Bob and Susie loved fishing at Lake Eufaula, going to Oklahoma City Blazer Hockey games, traveling to Las Vegas, and to auto races. Most importantly, Susie loved her family and friends and large family gatherings with lots of laughter. Whether it was making a quilt for a racing family member, or crocheting a blanket or beanie for a new grandchild, she always wanted to be involved.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Murray Stout and Frances McCollum Stout. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Robert McCutchan; son, Gordon Earl Carlin, Jr and wife Tonya; daughters, Dr. Catherine Frances Carlin and husband Jay and Sara Linn Chilcutt and husband Scott; grandchildren: Mackenzie Kaye Bonny, Jackylin Rae Carlin, and Sarah Sophia Carlin-Embree; great-grandson, Ke’Shon Ezra Newton; Robert McCutchan and wife Brandy and family, Kellye Jones and husband Rich and family, Todd McCutchan and wife Stephanie and family, and Michelle Phillips and family; sisters, Mary Aguirre of Dallas, TX and Lucy Mugford of Waco, TX; one special cousin, Faye Burkhart and husband Joe; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
