Sue C. Austin

Sue Crabtree Austin, 88, passed away surrounded by her family on July 25, 2011 in Edmond, Ok. Sue was born Dec. 16, 1922 in Antlers, Ok to Ralph and Emma (Harris) Crabtree. Sue married J.F. Austin on September 25, 1943 in Durant, Ok. She retired as Director of Christian Education and was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church. Sue loved music, playing games, reading, gardening, counted cross stitch, quilting and watching OU and Dallas Cowboys football, basketball and the Olympics. Sue was a member of the Presbyterian Women of Central Presbyterian Church and very proud of her achievements through her work with the church. Sue is preceded in death by her sister, Frances Redden; brothers-in-law, Bill Redden, Marcus Austin and Jud Bailey and sister-in-law, Eva Bailey. Sue is survived by her husband, J.F. Austin of the home; daughter, Leslie Post and husband George of the home; son, John Mark Austin and wife Heather of OKC, OK; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 3 nieces and 3 nephews; sisters-in-law, Nora Austin and Jayne Austin. She touched the lives of family and friends through her zest for life and her love of God. A celebration of her life will be 3:00 pm, Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Central Presbyterian Church.
