Thomas Edward Lower

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas Edward Lower, who left this world peacefully on April 1, 2025, at the age of 77. Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on January 15, 1948, to loving parents David F. Lower and Thelma W. Douglas (Lower), Thomas grew up in Altus, Oklahoma, before relocating to Edmond in the early 1980s, where he remained a beloved member of the community.

Thomas had a true passion for life, especially when it came to football. His perfect day was spent watching his favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the University of Oklahoma Sooners, while enjoying some of the best BBQ ribs. His love for the game, his teams, and the joy of good food and great company brought him countless moments of happiness. His spirit was lifted by the laughter and love of family and friends, and he had a special gift for making others laugh.

He was known for his unwavering loyalty, his sense of humor, and his warm, welcoming presence. His favorite colors, Dallas Cowboys blue and silver, followed closely by OU red, were a reflection of his vibrant personality and his enthusiasm for life.

Thomas is preceded in death by his parents David and Thelma. He is survived by is son Corey B. Lower of Yukon, Oklahoma, his stepson Colby Carter, his brothers James W. Lower and his wife Gaynelle Lower and Dwayne David Lower, his granddaughter Sydney Lower, three nieces, three nephews, eight great nieces and nephews, and his granddaughter’s dog Miller whom he loved to babysit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

A visitation for Thomas will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 2:00 PM, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034. A committal service will occur Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 3:30 PM at Yukon Cemetery, 660 Garth Brooks Blvd, Yukon, OK 73099.
