Velma loved her family with all her heart. Some of her favorite times were family taco nights, teaching her grandkids to play rummy, and making peanut brittle with her church ladies. She enjoyed her coke and candy while watching her cooking shows.
Her red hair earned her the well-loved nickname of ‘Sis Red’. She loved the Lord and believe in His Word and was a faithful member of Still Standing Jesus Name Church in Spencer, Oklahoma.
She loved to talk about the Bible and wrote countless bible studies on every subject that she was happy to pass out to whoever had a question.
She was preceded in death by seven of her beloved siblings, her husband James Harley Lasiter, and granddaughter January.
She is survived by her daughters Debra Jean and Vickie Lynn; four grandchildren; Kimberly, Kelley, Amanda, and Edward. Nine great grandchildren; Johnathan, Destiny, Brittney, Riley, Axley, Chloe, Hannah, Khonor, and Avery. And two great great grandchildren Hadley and Maeve.
Velma laid down her burdens and entered into rest on August 4, 2022.
She left a legacy of love and truth and was a rock that her family leaned on. She will forever be in the hearts of all those she loved.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.baggerley.com for the Lasiter family.
